Jenn Penn
Business Consultant

With more than 30 years of experience, Jenn is a healthcare industry sourcing leader with both frontline clinical and orthopedic service line expertise. She helps medical device companies and health systems strengthen commercial strategy and identify or sharpen their unique value proposition by bringing a balanced view of clinicians, supply chain, and finance. She is highly skilled at navigating complex Integrated Delivery Network [IDN] environments.

In the orthopedic space, Jenn has led multimillion-dollar implant strategies and managed orthopedic operations for a major health system. She also served as Vizient’s Orthopedic Council Co-Chair, where she helped shape national best practices, guide surgeon-led governance, and influence contracting strategies across member organizations. She brings a comprehensive understanding of how surgeons, supply chain leaders, and Value Analysis Committees [VAC] make decisions.

Jenn began her career as a surgical technologist before moving into tissue recovery. She later earned an MBA from Robert Morris University, blending her clinical credibility with a strong strategic and financial acumen. Most recently, she served as Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing at Providence, leading day-to-day operations of the Orthopedic Strategic Sourcing Team. In this role, she prepared, negotiated, and administered contracts with key suppliers and performed risk assessments of proposals, including contract terms and conditions. Today, Jenn partners with clients to optimize orthopedic service line performance, reduce supply costs, and align stakeholders around data-driven decisions.
